Adaptive Swim Lessons - Northland

YMCA swim instructors provide water safety instruction and basic swimming lessons with Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - Northland volunteers who work one-on-one with each participant. We provide the special attention needed to create a comfortable learning environment for children and adults of all abilities.

What it is

Each lesson is a half hour. We offer two, 30 minute lessons on the same evening. Group learning starts off the lesson and then each person works with a volunteer on skill development.  Each lesson ends by time in the warm water pool. The instruction and guidance that the YMCA instructor provides along with the one-on-one attention our volunteers give, is what will make your lesson special.

Who it is for

Adaptive swim lessons are designed for children and adults with disabilities who need a one-on-one learning environment.

Good to know

Adaptive swim lessons are designed to be short and sweet. The lesson format allows swimmers to receive special attention from our volunteers along with the support of specific instruction from YMCA instructors.
