I am a native of New York City. I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University, attended business school at New York University and completed my premedical training at Columbia University.
I received my medical degree from the University of Minnesota. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and my Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. My postgraduate research involved investigation of the clinical factors important to the development of gallstone disease. My clinical interests include colon cancer, ulcer disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, GI tract bleeding, diagnostic & therapeutic endoscopy, and capsule endoscopy.
I am a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. I have been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Gastroenterology. I have numerous hospital staff appointments and proudly serve as President and CEO of Minnesota Gastroenterology, PA. I have been a member of Minnesota Gastroenterology's Board of Directors since 1998 and have served as the Chairman of the Board since 2007.
I am a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Minnesota Medical Association, Hennepin County Medical Association, Minnesota Patient Physician Alliance, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with his family, running, skiing, golf and travel.
