Shamoli Patel, MD

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with professional interests in women's health, adult health maintenance, and adolescent and pediatric care. I also speak Gujarati and Hindi.

I’m passionate about: my family whom I love dearly; I share that same passion in caring for my patients and their families.

Most people don’t know that: I am the first female physician on both sides of my family.

My favorite movie is: A Walk to Remember; it’s an inspirational story and touches the heart.  My favorite destination is India which has inspired me to become a doctor as I experienced people who struggled with basic needs and medical attention.

My motivation to become a doctor:  began from childhood; growing up with male physicians in my family, I admired their dedication to help others and wanted to do the same.

My heroes are: my parents; their positive energy continues to be my strength.

One of the challenges of my career that I enjoy is: the continuum of lifelong learning, which allows my relationships with my patients to grow as I’m able to educate them to make better health choices.

My personal health goal is: to workout with my husband.

My personal health challenge is: having a sweet tooth so I buy fruit versus sweets.

I am most proud of: my family; I love our morning table talks where we can gather for hours, express our views and learn from each other.
