I am a family medicine physician with professional interests in diabetes, hypertension, gout and immigrant health.

I am passionate about: providing care to underserved and underrepresented patient populations. As a member of the Hmong community, I have a particular interest in immigrant communities.
I became a doctor because: I have a foothold in both the Western and Eastern views of medicine having grown up as a Hmong American. I saw the cultural barriers that many faced and realized that, as a physician, I could bridge these cultural gaps.
One of my favorite places to travel is: South Korea. I traveled there with a few medical school friends and really enjoyed backpacking, climbing and hiking the countryside.
If I wasn't a doctor, I would be a: camp counselor. I love canoeing and hiking.
One of the best things I have done for my health is: find a workout buddy. We keep each other motivated to exercise -- even on cold Minnesota winter days!
My proudest moment was: the birth of my son in 2013.
