Dr. Madsen is a urogynecologist who treats female pelvic floor disorders and also has advanced training in vaginal surgery for benign indications and vaginal reconstruction. Urogynecology and pelvic health conditions include pelvic floor disorders, prolapse and incontinence among others. Dr. Madsen provides urogynecology care and services in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in Minnesota.
My practice philosophy: Women may experience a variety of pelvic health and urogynecology concerns and sometimes feel embarrassed to talk about it, but one out of four women experience a pelvic floor disorder, so they are not alone.
My goal is for women to feel comfortable talking to me about their pelvic health concerns so I can learn what is most important to them. I want to be a resource for learning about their pelvic health, what is happening to make them feel uncomfortable, and treatment options.
There are often a range of treatments to choose from, both nonsurgical and surgical. As a subspecialist, I have advanced training in vaginal reconstructive surgery, but my goal is for women to feel better using the least invasive treatment possible. I am a part of a team of professionals with various expertise and skills. Together, we will work with you to create a plan that you feel comfortable with and will help you to reach your treatment goals.
Best part of being a doctor: Seeing patients feeling better and getting back to doing the things they enjoy.
Why I became a doctor: I wanted a tangible skill I could use to fight health disparities and health issues that keep women from reaching their highest potential.
