Joe Jensen, MD
My specialties:
- Internal medicine
Hometown: Eden Prairie, MN
Why you became a physician: I studied abroad in Puebla, Mexico my junior year of college for five months. I rotated through local hospitals in a role that wouldn't be allowed here in the US. On my first day they told me in Spanish to make my way to Labor and Delivery as a first-time mom was about to deliver her baby—I helped! Next thing I knew I was scrubbed into a procedure to remove an older woman's uterus. The final cuts were made and I was told to bring the specimen to the lab. I somehow found my way there in absolute disbelief, but without question I was sold on becoming a doctor.
Fun fact about yourself: I am an only child, and wife and I currently have an only child as well—a tiny furry seven pound dog named Louie who essentially runs our lives with his giant personality
How you like to spend your free time: Outside as much as possible--Walks, golfing, lakes, restaurant patios, pools. Winter is tough, but that's when it's time for reading, sports, movies, TV shows, and being outside isn't all that bad either.
