Why I became a physician: The serious and chronic medical conditions of my family inspired an early interest in medicine and allowed me to see first-hand how medicine can reshape a life. This, in combination with my love of biology, and physiology, and my passion for solving problems, really moved me to pursue medicine as what I wanted to do with my life.

Fun fact about myself: Despite the heartbreak that often comes with it, I am a steadfast Minnesota sports fan.

How I like to spend my free time: I enjoy running and both play and coaching basketball and soccer. I love being outdoors, particularly in Northern Minnesota where I enjoy camping, hiking, and being on the water. I take pleasure in reading, especially classical literature, and am very interested in history. I love spending time with my family.
