I am a board-certified physician, specializing in internal medicine. My professional interests include diabetes, geriatric medicine and preventive medicine.

I'm passionate about: giving patients the best experience possible. 

If I wasn't a physician, I would be a: history professor at a small college, because I like teaching and interacting with people.

Something I've learned from my patients is: to respect the different points of view as we all try to navigate the 21st Century.  

One of the challenges of my career that I enjoy is: trying to stay abreast with the ever changing landscape of medicine and providing my patients with state-of-art care. 

I am most proud of: my oldest son, who said for many years that he would never be a doctor, but decided to go to medical school. Also, I'm proud to contribute to my small town by serving on the school board and church council. 

I became a physician because: I love the balance of art, science and human interaction in a profession with lifelong growth.

What I tell family and friends: Pay attention to your body, since you notice changes before anybody else.

I like to spend my free time: boating, traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends.

My favorite health tip is: to be thankful for the people in your life and the experiences each day brings.
