Best part of my work: I enjoy the teaching aspect of being a doctor. I try to make sure all my patients understand what is going on in their body.
How I spend my free time: My two biggest passions are hunting and sports. I have hunted deer in southeast Minnesota for many years and take a yearly pheasant hunting trip to North Dakota.
What my patients say about me: I often hear that I'm laid back and someone who is easy to talk to.
What I tell family and friends: Live life in moderation. There is a lot of information and fads of the newest magic bullet that will prevent cancer or help you live forever. You will drive yourself nuts trying to follow all of these.
Why I became a provider: I was able to watch the impact my dad had on the people in our community. I have always enjoyed diagnosing problems and finding solutions – medicine gave me a great opportunity to do this, while helping people live healthier lives.
Favorite health tip: Live life in moderation.
Practice philosophy: I believe in educating patients and helping them find a solution that fits their life. I never ask patients to take a medication or undergo a test that I would not do, if I was in the same situation.
