I am currently accepting new pediatric patients. I enjoy newborn care and helping new parents, whether everything goes easy-peasy or particularly families who have a more difficult transition due to fussy babies or postpartum mood disorders. I have an interest in breastfeeding and support families however they choose to feed children. As families grow, I try to keep them connected with community resources. I enjoy cross-cultural medicine and I take care of patients from five continents.
Best part of my work: The luxury of continuity. I get to watch babies grow, teens change and adults mature.
Why I became a physician: As a teen, I worked as a camp counselor at YMCA and my duties included caring for children with diabetes and on kidney dialysis. We biked, we swam and we camped. I was hooked by the power of medicine to help these kids be well enough to just be kids.
What I tell friends and family: Many health problems improve with exercise, sleep and weight loss.
How I spend my free time: Running after my two young children, cooking, biking, gardening, cross-country skiing and spending time with friends and family.
What patients say about me: My patients appreciate that I believe in them and take the time to get to know them as people. I respect my patients' time and stay punctual.
Favorite health tip: Don't smoke! If you do, ask for help quitting.
