I believe that effective psychotherapy involves a knowledgeable therapist and a collaborative relationship between patient and therapist. I feel honored to listen to my patients, to discern attainable goals, and to work together in achieving those goals. I focus on the whole person, the mind-body connection, and encourage patients to understand the science, skill-base, and practical wisdom involved in any change or rehabilitation effort. I use a variety of methods, including cognitive-behavioral (CBT), narrative, and cultural-relational therapy, and teach mindfulness and self-hypnosis skills in my practice.
