Michael Q. Freehill, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with additional board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine, specializing in disorders of the shoulder and elbow. His comprehensive training includes extensive cutting-edge experience in adult joint reconstruction and arthroscopic reconstructive techniques.
Dr. Freehill is the author of multiple book chapters and journal articles which have been published in various academic publications such as the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, Journal of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. In addition, Dr. Freehill has lectured on an international and national basis presenting research on shoulder reconstructive techniques.
He is CEO/Medical Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Institute Center in Edina. He also serves as the team physician for Wayzata High School and medical consultant to Macalester College and Northern Lights Junior Volleyball. He served as President and CEO of Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists from 2005 through 2011.
