Why I became a physician: Witnessing my father's care of others as a surgeon initially motivated me. After I broke my back in high school, I was further inspired to care for others.
What I tell friends and family: Buckle up and wear a helmet when needed. Exercise, drink lots of water, eat healthy, get good rest and take time for yourself. Be involved in extracurricular activities.
How I spend my free time: Outdoor activities, exercise, work in the yard and around the home, reading, traveling, volunteering at my children's school, church activities, skiing and spending time with friends and family.
