What it is

Biofeedback uses special equipment to show you how your body reacts to stress. Sensors placed on your body measure key body functions like breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. A monitor uses sights and sounds to help you understand how your body changes in response to being stressed or remaining relaxed. During a biofeedback session, a therapist guides you through techniques so you learn how to remain relaxed.
